Mission

As a pivotal member of our finance team, you will harness the power of data to transform complex financial information into clear, actionable insights that propel our organization forward. They will serve as the linchpin in bridging the theoretical frameworks and practical applications of data governance, ensuring robust and compliant data practices. Collaborating closely with our agile scrum teams, they will spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI and BI use cases, driving innovation and enhancing our data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Detailled Tasks

• Convert the theoretical data governance framework of data owners, data stewards and data custodians into a data culture where finance employees are empowered by their data governance responsibilities and experiences.
• Encourage and support experimentation and innovation in data practices, aligning with the organization’s mission for sustainability and operational excellence.
• Extract and interpret financial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform strategic decisions.
• Work closely with the Luminus scrum teams to integrate AI and BI solutions into business processes and workflows.
• Provide training and support to team members on data analysis tools and methodologies.
• Identify opportunities for leveraging AI and BI to improve financial processes and outcome in line with our company wide AI program.
• Monitor and ensure data quality within the department.
• Advocate for data stewardship and encourage proactive data management.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between business units and their respective data stewards.
• Actively work to improve data management KPIs within the department by ensuring all data-related activities are executed effectively and efficiently.
• Work transversally across departments to identify and address data silos.

COMPETENCES

• Ability to think strategically and align data initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
• Proficiency in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights and familiarity with statistical analysis tools and methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles and practices, including data quality, and data management requirements.
• Experience in developing and implementing AI and BI solutions, with an understanding of machine learning algorithms and business intelligence platforms.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence and drive change within the department.
• Familiarity with scrum and agile methodologies, and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools, such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Excellent collaborative skills and ability to maintain positive work relationships.
• A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in data analysis and governance.

Background

• A degree in finance, economics, computer science, data science, or a related field.

Knowledge

• Understanding of (financial) data analysis and its application in driving strategic business decisions.
• Familiarity with data governance principles and the ability to bridge theory and practice.
• Knowledge of AI and BI tools and methodologies for developing use cases and solutions.
• Awareness of agile and scrum methodologies, particularly in the context of cross-functional team collaboration.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in transforming (finance) data into actionable insights.
• Practical experience with data governance and ensuring data compliance within an organization.
• Hands-on experience in facilitating and developing AI and BI use cases.
